How we write our guides
Our guides are written by the Vocatia team, a small independent UK job site.
How we research
We use official UK sources, including the National Careers Service, GOV.UK, the Health and Safety Executive, the Office for National Statistics and Acas. We also use our own live job data to show current job counts, common roles and pay from live adverts.
How we check and update guides
Every guide is checked and edited by the Vocatia team before it's published. We date figures that can change, such as wages and rules, so you can see when they were checked.
We review every guide at least once every three months. The “Updated” date changes when we review and update the guide.
Tools we use
We use research and writing tools to help draft our guides; every guide is checked and edited by the Vocatia team before it's published.
Health and wellbeing
Where a guide touches on health or wellbeing, it focuses on the practical side of choosing work. We don't give medical advice, and we point to trusted organisations such as the NHS and Mind for support.
Mistakes and corrections
If you spot a mistake, please tell us. We check reports and fix errors quickly.
Advertising and paid placements
We do not include adverts or paid placements in our guides. If that changes, we will update this page before we publish them.
